What Hybrid Car to Get

OK I'm fed up with paying close to a grand a month in Company Car tax........

I can't be bothered doing it any other way so am going to change cars.

I am thinking BMW 7 Series Active Hybrid.....any thoughts or better options?

i think Foxy is running a 7 series nowadays, maybe a PM will shed some light on how they are, however i don't think its a hybrid

the only hybrids i have seen were 5 of my dads Lexus RX 400/450's and the BIL's Toyota Arius

Both did what they said on the tin and did not deliver milk in the morning with Ernie as far as i know Whistle

In all seriousnes, the 7 series was the transport of choice for me when I was growing up as my father had a considerably generous company car allowance. He made the move from Daimlers Double Six's and the like Cool to 735i's back in the 80's and they were immense, even back then.

Do you really need the size of a 7 though, the 5's are bloomin big as it is and you'd not get near £92k with the best of specs. Idea ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Why not just move the RRS around the company as a pool car, take an allowance for a company car and get yourself a nice sports car to get too and from work, and use the RRS for site visits etc etc. saving a fortune in cct. Thumbs Up

I was wondering something similar. Well, I thought "why have a RRS as a company car when you could just buy one?" 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I may buy the RRS from the company......I value it at £10K. Whistle

Do I have to justify the price agreed between me and my company (in essence me!)?

^^^ Yes - it needs to be an arms length transaction to keep HMRC happy. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

As Bradders says, needs to be arms length.
You could buy it at lower than market value, but it would be deemed a BIK and taxed as such. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

How do I keep it "at arms length"?

Sell it to a mate and buy it back?

Then it's had 3 owners!

Just get some written trade in valuations from a couple of garages. We buy any car would be a start and one other.

......and of course, the condition can effect the price of the car, so be sure it's priced according to the condition it's in Wink Whistle ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
