Cam belt update

Hi guys

Just an update on changing cam belts on 7 years/105000 miles
I changed my front belt today. The car is 7 years old with 78000 on the clock. The old belt was just starting to crack around the teeth. So it looks like I caught it in time.
For those of you that have 7 year old cars that haven't changed at least the front belt yet. I would recommend getting it done ASAP.
A big thank you to boringoldgit for lending me the tools to do it. I'll get them back to you ASAP

Changed one on mates D3, it was in same sort of condition, 106k miles and 7 years old. Had similar bits missing and frayed and also the rubber deposits on idler and inside cover. Might be a case of sending this info to LR, as always thought the service interval was too large. Personally, I would think 70k or five years would be safer time limit.
My L200 had belts changed at 70 as per schedule but at 95 and 18 months, spat the balance shaft belt into the timing belt toasting 14 valves and exhaust cam. A bit of research soon revealed that if you tow, it puts balance belt under stress and needs changed at 30 k miles. Shame they didn't put that in hand book Big Cry 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

Just had front and rear belts changed @ 74000 on my 56 plate 2.7 as a precaution. The belts looked ok when we got them off but better to be safe than very sorry. Thanks again to Flack for doing a good job.

Any body got the dimensions of the locking pins for the cam shafts and crank shaft, o/d and length would be good for the TDV6.

Or has anybody got the Sealey VS 4965 kit and are willing to measure up. Swifty
