TDV6 3.0 HSE - Buying Help

Dear all,

I am looking to buy a TDV6 3.0 HSE RRS. I am currently looking at a Nov 2009 Reg with c. 50k miles on the clock from a local land rover dealer for c. £29k. As far as I can tell it is a standard HSE spec with leather/alcantara seats, and no added options.

A couple of questions:

Are there any specific options/extras which you feel i should be considering or is the standard HSE spec good enough? (It seems worth going for the HSE vs the SE)
Do the later MY10 models come with specific extras that people think are important or is there no change until the next SDV6 model?
I'm not sure about leather/alcantara seats - do people have very strong views over the combination vs all-leather?

Any other tips/pointers to other threads would be most appreciated.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi,

HSE is a good spec to start with, There are a few options like privacy glass, heated steering wheel, rear entertainment, side steps that are nice to haves,

I have a 2011 TDV6 based on an SE, having recently had a HSE loan car the only things I thought my car would be nice with from the HSE were the lights in the door handles and grab handles, folding mirrors and noticed it had the centre fridge (which isnt really essential) but not much else, I know a standard SE lacks in the leather trim department.

Half Leather is IMO is always less preferential than the full leather.

It might be worth trying one with the active cruise control. Some people hate it, others (such as me) find it a worthwhile system.

If you want to be able to tow then finding one with the tow electrics fitted and a tow ball in the boot would save you effort later on.

Try one with side steps. Again, some people love gthem, others hate them. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks RRSTDV8. Turns out the that the only additional option which is fitted is the tow bar/electrics so that covers your suggestion. On the cruise control, i suspect the normal version will be fine for me. I find I don't often use CC anyway. I'm hoping my iphone 5 will play/charge through the ipod connector with an apple lightning converter It seems some people report that even with this the phone doesn't charge properly.
