United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

That sounds good as not sure if it's just me, but so far the latest series has been a little 'underwhelming' from my perspective.

I wish they would do a LR based challenge i.e. all buy a LR for £1500 and then travel from one mad place to another.

From what I recall, all three TG presenters were slightly dismissive of the RRS, but did say that if you want a FFR but need to go 0.5 second faster 0-60, then the RRS was ideal, but really with its nickname ‘The Range Rooney’ it was never going to be well received by the bluff old traditionalists such as the Orangutan, Capt. Slow and the Hamster!

That said, will certainly be tuning in and look forward to seeing the new model being berated/loved/destroyed/worshiped or whatever! --------------------------------------------------------

You were spot on Mike! It's a shame they didn't film Hamster driving it on a normal road, but as a result of watching the programme I will add the Wade Sensor to my spec as it is an amusing bit of kit for a reasonable price. Thumbs Up

Its funny - at LR they said that the wade sensor shouldnt be used off road as its unreliable - but great if you were driving on a flooded road.

The rest of the their segment was equally sh Censored t - top gear seems to have had a poor series this year. The end was ok

They didnt even mention the wifi hotspot zone in the car or the soon to be launched app Mike

What does the LR hotspot offer over just using the smart phone as a wifi hotspot?

I presume the LR is still using the phone? 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Apparently its a wifi hostpot itself with better internal wifi and external signal coverage. Mike

Not sure that answers the question. Any smart phone can provide a wifi hotspot that more than covers the car interior.

A manufacturer supplied system will use what exactly to connect to the internet? If it is just your phone then I do not see the point.
If it requires another 3G/4G simcard I do not see the point of that either!! Very Happy 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

The only benefit of an in-vehicle system is the possibility of having a better aerial system to give better coverage as you drive around. A phone, especially in a vehicle, will lose signal in weaker coverage areas - presumably a vehicle could improve reception. Not so good if you need to have an additional sim-card though. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Google says that it uses the roof aerial which would be good, not clear about the sim card though. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

I think it does...but others have added...lets unpick Thumbs Up Apparently its a wifi hotspot itself with better internal (so a standalone system that ensures the car has wifi throughout that doesnt interfere with anything)

and external - using the car's existing or other aerial to provide a more enhanced signal strength in weaker areas

Its supposed to be High Bandwidth as well

As for the 2nd sim card that was my impression, but i cant confirm or deny...as its going to have auto accident call, Land Rover Assist auto call, stolen vehicle tracking and similar features i would say this is highly likely Mike
