United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Bonatti Grey
MOT

Hi every one,

I have been told by my regular MOT engineer he will not be able to do my RR next year as any vehicle over three tons will have to go to a HGV center. Is any one else aware of this?

Regards Ron

England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Java Black

Don't the old ones weigh 2.7 and new ones around 2.4?

They are 2.7 tonnes wet so don't make 3 even with full tank of fuel 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Firstly - as everyone says - the range rover isnt 3t

Secondly - the Range Rover is treated as a normal car (just check your log book for its class)

Thirdly - there is a different set of regs for none commercial vehicles over 3t...this applies to motorhomes etc, i know this because we have just had ours MOT'd

Finally if he doesnt know the difference...go elsewhere! Mike

Shocked ooh. Some bodies tired Thumbs Up but he is right, class 4 is normal car, van and pickup, class 7 is up to and including 3.5 tonnes and in some cases above that but used for personal use such as larger motor homes and van derived camper conversions.
As Mile says, time to find an inspector who knows what he is on about, he would have had to know the correct weight to calculate brake efficiency as he shouldn't be using the rolling road Rolling with laughter 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I was turned away when after a 4 wheel alignment. The guy said it went "well over" 3 ton weight limit. Bull***t. I went round the corner and they did it while I waited. They are either not interested in the work or shouldn't be in charge of your car. Walk away. MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys
