Australian cost of new RRS

You chaps in England have it pretty good. The LR dealer here just wrote me up a quote for a new HSE SDV6. Fuji white, standard 20inch wheels, no other bling except for surround camera and and memory seats (no kiddie seats either). Not even any side steps or floor mats.

$AUD141,800 on the road. That's nearly 84,000 pounds in your money. Which in the UK I believe would get me a Supercharged Autobiography with every option ticked, and changed.

Good grief. Greg Milner

Don't know about wages being higher...maybe they are. And yes, the weather is a tad better.

I might be better off getting a 12-month old Vogue Luxury SDV8 rather than wearing the full depreciation on the new Sport. I can pick up a very good Vogue with less than 20,000km on the clock for under $120K, optioned up with almost all the good stuff. Seems like a better bet to me. Greg Milner

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey

Is there any laws on importing cars to Australia?

Transit time to Sydney is only 44 days and after the cost of shipping it'd still be a fair wack cheaper than buying over there surely? Current: 06 RR Sport HSE TDV6, Bonatti grey, black leather. Defender 90 pick up. Vito 110cdi

Previous: Mercedes CLS, BMW 330cd M sport, Nissan 200sx, Impreza STi, EP3 Civic Type R

The government has all that covered. You get slugged for everything, GST, Luxury Car Tax, Customs & Import Duty, the works. It's probably more expensive to import a car yourself than let a dealer do it by the shipload and just buy from them. Greg Milner

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

.....Unless you have owned the car for more than 2 years in the UK, then I believe you can import it free from taxes. Cars are expensive here, just like everything else but wages are probably slightly higher. Full time adult average annual earnings = $77428 (source ABS) which is 46400 pounds at today's exchange rate (.6 AUD to the Quid). Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2009 Buckingham Blue RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2010 Alaska White RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Gone - 2017 Chawton White RRS 5.0 V8 Supercharged
Current - 2010 Java Black RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Current- 2024 RRS P400 SE Dynamic

2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Average UK salary is about £27k, but that is a skewed figure as a lot of high income earners are excluded due to a nice little tax dodge.

Doesn't matter what country though, a second hand car is always cheaper! 07 TDV6 HSE in Stornoway Grey, 20" alloys |08 XF SV8 on order.

Gmilner, i think the prices you have been quoted are a little over inflated. I paid slightly more than that for a fuji with a roof and quite a few other goodies for fractionally more than the price you've been quoted.

PM me and i shall send you the price list that my dealer sent to me when ordering.

I put a deposit down for an RRS back in April and have been given an August build early Nov delivery timeframe.
