Fuel Economy Yet Again

Anyone else tried the new Nitro diesel?

I got a rather large improvement in mpg. Felt freaky as consumption has been consistent.

Anyone else?

Sorry I missed the start of that thread saying it was Nitro+. I am seeing a rather surprising 20% to 25% improvement. So much so I thought I would see if I was the only one. Graham

In real terms, i'd be very surprised if its an improvement so great

I have never seen 30. Today was well in excess of that.

I will shut up now and see if it is sustained (did wonder if they put lots of additives in at launch and reduce them over time). Graham

I wish...... Even driving like Miss Daisy, I'm getting 20.2 out of Fullfat.
I managed 23-24 in Sport driving far harder, in mixed driving conditions. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

I had a 4.4 TDV8 Vogue loaner last year and was getting 30-32 Mpg using paddleshift Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

My RRS definitely responds to V-Power Nitro with regards mpg, I would say 4, maybe 5mpg better.

On a run, I achieve low thirties.

Am sure on a longer journey up and down a motorway, this figure will improve.
To chip or not to chip, this the question, seems mpg is vastly improved but will it affect reliability?

Is under warranty so 'not yet'.

I understand the theory that the car is tuned to deal with rubbish petrol and if you change that to cope with normal fuel (excluding morrissons) then the performance improves with no danger to reliability. Theory = Practice? Graham

I have a 2.7tdv6 2007

If I use the nitro diesel and get a economy re-mapp what sort of fuel consumption should I expect?.

Also if I get a re-mapp do I have to disclose this too the insurance company as they always ask if there has been any modification done? 2007 RANGE ROVER SPORT 2.7 TDV6 HSE in silver

I was using just normal diesel, I got about 27mpg. Recently switched to Nitro+ (most likely because of the Barclays bespoke offer), I think I am getting about 29mpg on average.

Most if not all Shell garages sell it and its about 7p per litre dearer than premium diesel. I use it all the time, its been out about 3 months.
