That pic of the FF is just horrific! At what point did the guy sticking all that on step back, admiring his handiwork and say to himself "ah yes that's really hit the spot, much more classy now"

I'm sure we've all had a moment though where we've bought something for the car, eagerly put it on the evening it arrived in the post, then look at it and say " me that's awful, that's coming off straight away. The wife was right what a waste of money!"

OK back to plan A for my car then. Are the ebay painted mirror covers any good?

The mirror caps on EBay are fine, just check with local paint shop that they can't do it cheaper than eBay price.  2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I'll stick my neck out a little, to say that they are just covers - Land Rover never made or supplied chrome ones on any model, let alone a HST

But even I would go for colour coded mirror caps over chrome ones.  Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more...
