Dead door lock story..... | |
Ok, locked the car, and as a habit I checked the drivers door on the way past, and bingo it wasn't locked.
Tried a few ties, door refused to lock, so locked it with the internal lever via the passengers door.
Now the fun...... Te next morning the door won't open, from outside or inside, it was dead locked.
Nothing would work, after speaking to a1 landrover, it was apparent there was 2 options, not including setting fire the the car...
1: take the drivers seat out see if we could remove the door card
2. Smash the lock open
Opted for option 2
Gaffe taped up the door and top section of window, removed door window trim from the outside, gaffe tape stops you scratching the door, then with fingers crossed using a long screwdriver in the gap created begin smashing the plastic that is the lock, without breaking the window, or sticking the screwdriver through the side of the door....anyways, 2 hits and bingo we are in.
Simple jobby to replace the lock once the door is open, we were lucky it opened so easy, some are not so fortunate.
Moral of the story...... Cars are a pain in the arse. If you took some fog and put it in a jar, would it be missed.
