I have done it simply by asking the seller and at least till now they have been honest and told the truth (I quess) Very Happy . And if there isn't any papers for the used car to show it's history, I will walk away. Also I think frame number doesn't lie if you are able to check it from some official LR place?

The vin number is clear and you can also get the info on Topix, but the dealer system may have even more details on it Mike
