Hi everyone

I am a new RRS owner having moved from a Jaguar to a 2006 RRS 2.7.

I have seen various posts on chipping and have emailed Turbochip twice thus far without any replies whatsoever (one of the forum sponsors).

I would be really keen to speak to members who have had their cars chipped and what the medium to long-term effect has been. I know the subject has been covered several times but thus far I have been unable to find answers to some of the questions I have.

For example --- other than the performance hike is there a noticeable mpg improvement?

And more importantly does the car drive differently? By this question I don't mean does it drive differently in terms of speed but, for example, are gear changes different? Less smooth? No different? More frequent gear changes or less frequent?

I would really appreciate anyone who might be able to spare a few moments expanding on the whole process and it's impact on the car.

Suggest you contact member 4Wheeldriver who has a chipped TDV6, his isn't a TurboChips chip and I know he is very pleased with it. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I don't know if you are limited only to chipping but I use the remap module (very convenient especially for your official LR services) from Bell Auto and I'm very happy with the results.

Power is delivered more smoothly and where needed (i.e overtakes with speeds of 120-130 km/h). There is also a small improvement in mpg if you keep driving your car the way you used too.
I haven't seen any change in terms of gear shifting.

I had my Audi A4 3.0TDi Quattro ship with a portable set from Bluefin, who are part of Superchips. Only had the car 4 months but saw a drop in mpg and smoother, constant responses when power was demanded.

I contacted them last week to ask if they would do a conversion or would I need to try and sell on my Audi bluefin. They only have a fixed chip at present for the 2.7V6 but as I'd only had the chip 4 months they advised that they will have a dedicated portable bluefin at easter and will swap it for me.

I'd thought I'd paid £445 for only 4 months use but their customer service has changed my view! Now - MY11 RRS Autobiography TDV6, Orkney gray, tints, steps, daylight running lamps and allllll the toys!!!

i had my tdv6 chipped it is an autologic download
loads more power,really noticeable above 30mph,
i usually get between25-30 mpg
well worth the £400

Had my Td6 chipped by Nick from Turbochip, 2 weeks back and honestly, the difference is like night and day. worth every penny

My car is chipped by Pete at Bell Auto Services form this forum - specifically tuned to your car and requirements.

Well I did not ship my car 17,000km from Canberra to the UK for Pete to do this

Can all be done via snail mail for the hardware and email for the actual remap.
