There is a current Land Rover wheel finish which I think is called 'black chrome'. Saw this on some wheels on display in a local LR dealership. Hard to describe but imagine a standard silver sparkle with a thin layer of black misted over some parts of the wheel. Not a bad compromise between the conservative all silver and the all black 'gangsta' look . 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Standard silver. Standard wheel's painted in anything other than their standard colour looks utter pants, IMHO. Current: 06 RR Sport HSE TDV6, Bonatti grey, black leather. Defender 90 pick up. Vito 110cdi

Had some aftermarket wheels on a car(not a LR) a few years ago that were done in a chrome effect paint. Looked very nice but the finish was VERY easy to mark and after about 6 months there were places that were through to the primer despite my best efforts to look after them |
