I believe there will be some exclusions, which you will need to read the small print.
I recall people on here saying recently that they'd moved from a Manufacturers warranty to an 'Extended' warranty and now certain parts were not covered.

Worth doing a search for warranty threads on here Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Ok Thanks for the replys guys, i would realy love to get one but its the gamble that if something did go wrong and the warranty did not cover it could i afford to get it fixed. its ok spending £25,000 on one out of some money that im being left but it is the after problems might be to much. Sad

It's better that you have the time to think over that now, that staring down the barrell of a £'000 bill to get your car back on the road again. Wink

It sounds like we are all trying to put you off Embarassed , which is far from it, my RRS is my first and bar one small problem (split turbo hose) it's been a dream, a truly great car Bow down Cool ....BUT, it's a brand new one with a full LR warranty.

You just need to make sure you enter this with your eyes wide open Shocked . Also, like all forums, they have a propensity to report only the problems, there are lots of very happy owners out there that you won't hear a peep from too. Thumbs Up

FWIW, an 'R' jag isn't exactly going to be light on the pocket either in my honest opinion Wink Whistle

Good luck with whatever path you choose.........and just avoid anything that says "Cairns Blue RRS TDV8, recently fitted engine" Rolling with laughter , no seriously.....that's simple1's old car Wink Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver

Bigmark

I found a 2007 2.7tdv6. With 33.000 miles on clock for £20.000 its fantastic i haven't had it long just a month and only done 90 miles in it then had to go away to work in Egypt for a month and every day its driving me mad that I can't take it for a spin, the 90 miles I have done in it was the best drive IV had.

I like you have always wanted one so I took the plung and got one

I am going to be taking a warranty out on it just reading about them now.

You,can pay monthly for the LR approved ones which might be better option got you.

And the 2.7 might be also a better option for running cost

Shop around try and get one for around the 20 - 23 mark and use the rest of the money for warranty cover so al least you can be trouble free motoring then if you get lots of trouble with it ones its fixed sell it, then at least you will have owned one and it will put your mind at rest every time you see one

I filled mine up it was showing 50 miles left on the trip counter it cost £115 pound and and it said i had around 560 miles on a full tank. £400 insurance £290 tax so that is just about your budget gone for a year

Don't be put off go for it or every time you see one you will always say to,yourself i will have one of them one day

Good luck mate 2007 RANGE ROVER SPORT 2.7 TDV6 HSE in silver

2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I've just bought a 2007 2.7 tdv6 with 48k from Hunters LR in Derby. I was worried like you but they put me at ease with a full 12 month LR warranty, then I bought an Inchcape 2 year extension to give 3 years. Also took out small bump and alloy insurance. All in was about £25k and the car was made mint before collection. It's almost as good as a new car but 6 years old!! 07 TDV6 HSE in Stornoway Grey, 20" alloys |08 XF SV8 on order.

The Land Rover warranty was £1095 for a 1 year extension, Inchcape was £1095 for 2 years. Taking me to three years (est of how long we'll own it).

As its Inchcape supplied it comes with all the approved checks so seemed a no-brainer. From looking at all the small print, the warranties seem identical, even to the registered address of the underwriter (the same address!). The LR one also had an individual part max of £3000 where as the Inchcape one just states it'll pay out on anything up to the purchase value of the car. Both also include breakdown cover.

Both have the usual wear and tear item exclusion, and mandatory need to service (but by any VAT registered garage).

Obviously this is all paper talk and good salesmanship at the moment. The proof will be in any need to claim! 07 TDV6 HSE in Stornoway Grey, 20" alloys |08 XF SV8 on order.

My RRS is 2007 so out of warranty for me to get a inchcape one or LR I will no doubt need this pre test how much is this?

And as I bought mine privately how much will the warrantys cost me

LR pre test ?
LR warranty?

Inchcape pre test ?
Inchcape warranty?

Will a re map voide the warranty or should I get the re map done before the pre inspection?

Thank you

Best to make done calls mate. Inchape are just a LR dealer so can fill you in.

Re-maps can cause a claim to be rejected, depending on the type of claim. If its a turbo failure and there's evidence of a re-map it ain't gonna happen. But a suspension failure might be ok. 07 TDV6 HSE in Stornoway Grey, 20" alloys |08 XF SV8 on order.
