The Driven Challenges

Today and tomorrow (6th-7th June) will see the new Range Rover Sport pushed to new limits in a series of punishing drives in what Land Rover are calling "The Driven Challenges".

Here’s the trailer for a taste of what's to come:

In the first challenge (today, 1pm BST) the all-new Sport takes on Pike's Peak, the 12.6 mile hill climb course which climbs over 4,720ft through 156 corners - www.ppihc.com

You can find more info here: www.newrangeroversport.com/challenges and follow the challenge (6th - 7th June) on Twitter via #DrivenChallenges

Hope this is of interest Smile Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

The Pike's Peak challenge is called "Faster", looks like we've got "Deeper" (at the Dead Sea), "Higher" (Himalayas) and "Colder" (Pole of Cold Shocked ) to come Cool Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

I drove from Colorado Springs (6035') to Cripple Creek (9494') and Victor (9708') in October 1972. The US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs generously lent my crew two GM staff cars, which were gasping for breath half way up Pikes Peak. We enjoyed a few beers in Cripple Creek, tried gold panning (unsuccessfully) and then set off down the unpaved (murram) roads, which were very slippery in places due to melted snow. Fortunately we arrived back in Colorado Springs unscathed. It would have been a lot more fun in a RRS
