Yes it'll be a better car - If I could stand the wait I would wait and of course cost is an option. It's your call but it'll be a much better car! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

You might have a long wait for a TDv8 RRS as it isn't supposed to be coming before spring 2007 in RRS form.......................... BUT it might be an idea to wait until November and test drive the RR TDv8 before deciding if TDv6 RRS is the way to go. TDv6 is a good car and after a TD6 you will find much more civilised! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Have already got my name down for a TDV8 and was quoted Jan-March delivery but the dealer couldn't confirm on dates, as usual the official line is that they don't know anything about it.. regarding a V6 or V8 I reckon its definitely best to wait matey! the new V8 will have 276bhp and will pull the front off a battleship.

That's the problem. My dealer is being fairly cagey about delivery dates. However its encouraging that in the small feature on the RR TDV8 in this months Car magazine that they mention that Land Rover have been testing the TDV8 in the Sport along side its bigger brother. I'm guessing that i'll be looking at around March delivery ? Mind you in the grand scheme of things there are worse decisions to have to make ! |

No one has actually driven, and reported on having driven the TDV8 but if they succeed the same as the TDV6 then it will be well worth the wait! Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award

as I understand it the RRS was engineered to run with the TDV8 from birth so they must have been testing for a while. It seems the reason they will be delaying launch until Q1'07 is because the TD6 engine in the big RR runs out of EC regulatory approval at the end of this year so that's more of a priority.

My parents saw what we believe was a TDV8 a year ago, it was a white RRS with test gear and tape on it going on the ferry to France. Almost certainly LR are working on the replacement RRS, as by the time a model is launched the designers are on to the replacement model. |

Anyone know if the rrs hse tdv6 and v8 are going to be in the market jointly or are there moves afoot to phase out the former? That would have a bearing on whether you buy a V6 or V8 now. RRS 2.7TDV6 HSE Java Black, Sun Roof, Tasmod Sills |

When I spoke to with the guys in the local dealership in the winter they suggested then that the 2 TDv engines would continue to be offered, like an extra option, on each spec level. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I wouldn't have thought they would phase out a V6 just because they have a V8. They both have a place in the market. Anyway, I heard that the 2.7 TDV6 will later be upgraded to become a 3.0TDV6. 2013 New Range Rover Sport HSE SDV6 2008 Audi Q7 4.2 TDI 2006 Toyota Vigo Truck 3.0D4D. |

Are you sure about this? The one thing I constantly read in the motoring press is that "The TDV6 does not live up to its sport moniker" In light of the ML320CDi/Toerag V6TDi/imminent X5 it needs a bit of a boost! Then again, even less 4.4V8's would probably be sold.....
