started installing them yesterday, purchased via Super Tweaks.
the process is a little fiddly and one side took about 3 hours (!).
the process is a little different than that shown on youtube from Powerful UK. Mainly how you apply the bolts to the brackets closest to the wheels, and when in the process you put the sills back on. Oh, and the brackets didnt line up so well to the slots in the steps, so a little messing around was required.

You should have gone for 'pre-cut' sills

That way, you can always reverse the procedure and sell the steps separetly down the line if you sell the RRS  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I have a new set of uncut sills if anyone wants them to practice on.

i was tinkering with the idea of precut sills, but in fact following the guide on the pdf the procedure was very simple !

well, no luck with the rubbery ones i'm afraid. And from what I see, EVERY retailer is selling the same side steps from the same manufacturer. You can tell by the packaging with the nuts/bolts/washers. I had to back down and buy the copies, £600 for originals cant be justified.

What i'd like to see is a lighter side step though. I'm sure you can get aluminium brackets and bolts. I was a pro cyclist several years ago and we all laced out bikes with titanium and aluminium bolts and all the components were made of aluminium. business idea for anyone ? the load these steps bear is very low and the tightening pressure is only 22Nm. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

Have a look at LR parts in Liverpool, £150 plus vat with cut out and they state with rubber non skip not plastic, it looks like they also fit.
Am buying a Jan 2011 hse in sept and from what I have seen these seem the best ones I can find. They also do mud flaps for £25 Rob

What's the difference between the ones with the side sills and the ones without (i.e. what are these side sills; is it easy to cut out or is it not worth the hassle?) . Thanks

The side sills are the plastic parts that cover the bottom side edges of the car, you can see them when you open the doors.

Its wasnt tough for me to cut them, I used a hot knife and done within 10 mins. Measuring up took 10 mins also.

So, is it necessary to cut them out? I mean why sell them with these not cut out out already if it is something that's not required / meant to be cut out?

Oh yes its necessary to cut them out or they wont sit properly with the new brackets in place. I wanted to keep the original sills in place which is why I opted to cut them, but it seems most people go for the precuts. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.
