RRS TDV8 Servicing

I need to arrange for the 30,000mile service to be done on our 3 year old RRS TDV8 car was bought at 2 years and 6 months old with an MOT just before christmas 2012, we've covered 3,000miles since purchase

I spoke to 3 x dealers and these are the responses I got

Dealer 1
"yes no problem sir £504.00 inc VAT"

Dealer 2
"yes no problem sir £586.65 inc VAT................... oh and because its now 3 years old thats classed as the 45,000mile service so you need a brake fluid change at an additional £123.19"

Dealer 3
loads of questions about where we lived.. postcodes and contact details first.... then
"yes no problem sir £468.00 inc VAT"

where is the uniformity between dealers for exactly the same request on my part? I'm amazed at the difference in responses I got and the subtle data gathering that went on.

rant over

anyone with constructive thoughts on the above

Cheers

The second dealer appears to be correct - the service schedule is time or distance so your three year old vehicle is due its 3 year / 45000 mile service. And that includes the brake fluid.

Having said that, the brake fluid change should, in my opinion at least, be included in the price of the service.

It might be worth looking for a LR indie and asking them for a price. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I also agree it should, but equally wouldn't be surprised to see the tactic of charging extra.

More and more dealers see a service as an oil change and other things are extra.

As for the different prices, it's good and called competition, otherwise you would be paying 565 with no where to go Mike

If you can find a decent indy, expect to pay between £300-£350, using genuine parts Thumbs Up

Genuine parts excluding brake pads but including LR badged oil was £187.76.
Only reason I know is that the items appeared on my engine invoice as they "serviced" the new engine. The pollen filter was changed in October at service so it wasn't required. Shame they didn't reset the indicator as it now counting up saying -41 days to service Rolling with laughter 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
