DVD PLAYER NOT WORKING-NO DISC IT SAYS?

I tried again today to try and get it to play DVD's, it does however play music CD'S???

I have tried DVD lens cleaners, if I put 5 DVD'S in the system does confirm 5 are loaded but when I click on them it loads then says 'NO DISC'???

So frustrating..... for it to play music surely the lens is ok...?

Thanks.

Its an 07 RRS TDV8... yes its an Alpine system in the boot.... it's so irritating, I have tried so many DVD's but when they start loading the front screen says 'no disc', but if I put a music CD in it will play....

The handbook for the 07 RRS only mentions CD's, so perhaps DVD's are not playable assuming your player is the standard fitting.

Bad luck - I had the same problem and it was an expensive fix. And it has broken less than a year later. When the installer replaced the unit in the compartment he inserted it back to front so access to the disc changer was much more difficult.

How much is "expensive fix"? More specifically, what was done? I have had my DVD player out after trying DVD lens cleaners with no success. I took it out and took it apart to clean the lens directly with alcohol and a cotton bud. Made no difference. Still have some DVDs that play, and some that dont. Both brand new and old DVDs struggle to play.

Need to find somewhere I can send it off to/take it to for repair. Any suggestions? I am London based.

So is it a problem with the DVD player then, I presume the above guy fixes the issue with it?

Any idea on cost?
