Hi all,
I need to replace my 2005 RRS near side rear light set. I am considering going to a set of 2010 or 2012 LEDs.
Looking through the various ads around the net and posts here I am aware of the issue with resistors in the 2010 set and to add a reflector to the bumper for the 2012 set.
I would welcome any recommendations on suppliers or comments / suggestions on pros and cons of either set.

I may stand corrected but here goes - both 10MY & 12MY lights need resistors fitted - the earlier lights have grey inserts & the newer versions are coloured `ultimate black` I have the newer type fitted with resistors and have never had a problem. Both sets require reflectors to be fitted to the bumper or a bumper upgrade. Mine passed a MOT without the reflectors but as other members have previously posted - would it affect your insurance if you was unlucky enough to be involved in a collision. In my opinion the rear light upgrade does enhance the look of the car - but thats my opinion.  16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

I have the latest possible lights on the car (its a 13MY) and they are black inside...but they dont have anything more than the 11My with the silver/grey inserts - all had the reflector in the bumper...but the pre 2010 i recall has the reflector in the light so this would need replication as the law states the need for a rear reflector.

Insurance companies are funny things, i would say this is a modification not an accessory or direct replacement so probably need to tell them. Mike

now to find a good deal on getting some fitted...... anyone on here that can offer a service?

Fitting is a five minute job, just make sure the rear lights have got the resistors already fitted.

Another lazy question. Where is best to source them? Any tips on trustworthy sellers?

I got mine from Powerfuluk, have ordered several bits n pieces from them, delivered as described, well packaged and perfect fit.
My cars in the bodyshop for a few mods otherwise I'd post pics.

They are probably the Hawke ones that are sold more commonly than the OEM ones with added resistors.

The LR OEM lights with resistors cost about £350 to £400 12MY RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Lux Sumatra / Black + contrast/ Grand Black
