Map Sensor

lo all,

Getting a little low mpg on my TDV6 around 23mpg on average, seems a little low.

Thinking of giving the map sensor a clean, does anyone have any pics on where it is located?

Anybody cleaned it before?

Thanks

Yes considering my car has done 140k miles.

I will check this tomorrow and give it a good clean, is it easily removed?

Everyone should do this on a regular basis. I didn't find cleaning it made any difference to mine but it's nice to know it's able to do its job as it should Smile

Just be careful not to poke anything down the hole as you can damage the sensor. Thumbs Up

It's MAF sensor: Mass Air Flow sensor. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Whats the best method to clean the sensor? Soak it in petrol for a little bit?

Seems that everyone is saying it doesn't make a difference, I'll still do it though as it'll be nice to know it's clean. Current: 06 RR Sport HSE TDV6, Bonatti grey, black leather. Defender 90 pick up. Vito 110cdi

I just wiped it clean with a cloth and then sprayed a bit of brake cleaner on it

Note: No liability will be accepted for damage to you or your vehicle..........i just thought this would do the job and it was all I had available Laughing
