United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black
One side higher than the other!

Hi all,
sorry that my first post is a question so before I ask I will say that we are now proud owners of a lovely black RRS 4.2 supercharged 2006 beast, and its worth all the extra time and hours working that me and the bread knife put in.

Picked it up Saturday and it really is as good as everyone says but I don't need to tell you all that. Drove it back from the dealers with no probs, went to the garage to fill it up and on the way back to the RRS noticed that the drivers side rear was lower than the passengers side by 20mm got home and then did a run though of all settings hi to low then low to high, the difference ranges from 10mm at the lowest setting to 30mm at the highest, there are no warning lights and all seems fine but this not sitting straight thing is abit annoying, left it for 24hrs and there was no difference in the height.

Any ideas?
Thanks, Steve

It's not unusual for them to have different ride heights on each corner. The spec allows for something like +/-10mm for each wheel. Provided the tyres are wearing evenly it's probably ok.

To get it sorted you need to get the suspension calibrated - sat on a level surface and measurements/adjustments made. You should then really have a 4 wheel alignment done as changing ride heights changes camber etc. owing to the way the suspension moves.

It could be a symptom of a valve block needing attention or a ride height sensor issue. But you'd need it calibrating first to see if the corner is misbehaving. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey

Hi Steve, welcome to the site Thumbs Up

I had a similar situation with mine, passenger side rear was sitting 10-20mm lower than the other corners. I took it to an independant specialist who reset the suspension software and that sorted it. Sounds like you are in a similar situation so might be worth finding out who your local specialist is.

Let us know how you get on Cool Current: 06 RR Sport HSE TDV6, Bonatti grey, black leather. Defender 90 pick up. Vito 110cdi

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Adriatic Blue

Hi Steve
I bought my 06 S/C a few months ago. I had a similar issue. Front left corner was low. I had a specialist check it out and they fixed it by changing a Crossover valve. I didn't pay as the selling garage picked up the tab but I understand it wasn't very much.

Good luck. Hope you start enjoying yours as much as I am mine Thumbs Up
