Feel the need to stick up for the Conti's....... Very Happy

Had the sport contact's on my RRS and they were great, did somewhere in the region of 30K miles on one set with no issues at all Thumbs Up

I didn't try and corner it like a sports car and did 50/50 Mway / rural driving.

First thing I did with the S4 was rid the Bridgestones that were on in and change to Conti's, wear rate is great, grip is good and they're relatively quiet. Bow down Thumbs Up Bow down Current: I can't say...Oh the Shame!

is that the Continental Sport Contact that is rubbish? They dont seem to be that badly rated online at a few sites (though that doesnt mean too much).

Is the preferred type the Pirelli Scorpion Zero?

8k and the wear was terrible.... LR quoted "its not a sports car and I must driving it round roundabouts to hard" Blow me thought it said "SPORT" on the back of the car and it was all four tyres, I stated I was not in the habit of going the wrong way at roundabouts!! By 12k on the inside tread the braid was coming through... done 22k on the Pirrellis with out issue

Woka,

In a nutshell...... No! However.......................... If the supplying dealer has a stock vehicle with your preferred choice at the time of handover then I'm sure a swap could be arranged for a nominal fee (i.e. cost of swapping 8 tryes round).

I had exactly the same problem and the same comments from LR dealer.

I have since fitted Toyo's for half of the price and have been much happier. I am not sure if they are any better, but they are no worse. Plus I replaces the original 19's with 20's and the edge wear seems better.

Thumbs Up
I'm under the impression that rather than have all eggs in one basket, they will use a few different suppliers, that said, our showroom car and demo both have Conti's.

One to discuss nearer the time I think.

James Thumbs Up
Cool - Guess I will be doing a deal with you James Bow down

Part of the problem is that many people don't keep an eye on the pressure of their tyres and so tend to get uneven and increased wear.

hi what should be the correct tyre pressure,i put in what the sticker says on the door,im on 275's 20 inch conti contacts,it says 33psi,i was told put in 40 psi, mine are wearing on fronts on the both on inside,

If your tyres are wearing on the insides at rear, check bushes. Front inside and outside wear will be too low pressure but as an annual thing like MOT, get your four wheel alignment checked by someone who knows what they are doing!!!!! 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
