2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Fuji White
First Service!

Took the car in this morning. Service staff asked if I had any problems. Touch wood, the first year has been great, although I did ask why the brake calipers are so rusty looking. (I made the fatal error of taking pictures of everything when the car was delivered & they do not remotely resemble the once shiny silver finish!). The staff member said its because of the weight of the car. That was five hours ago & i'm still perplexed as to why the weight of the car would make the calipers go rusty!! the mass of the car is so huge that it creates it's own gravitational force and thus pulls the rain towards it, I know this to be true because last night the kids down the road decided to play football near my RRS and their football was pulled towards my RRS in the same way as the rain is.

Laughing

Also the local looney at the supermarket is pulled towards the RRS even though there are 1000 other Censored empty parking spaces.

I tried that with a dealer when my car was still under 3 years old and the calipers and discs were full of rust: "It's the conditions these parts are subjected to in this country sir. The combination of road salt and moisture is not good.". I got them painted at the time. Then the rear discs were changed about 7 months ago and the new ones have not shown any such signs yet. Won't bother if this happens again though.

My neighbour's Q7 had rusty discs and calipers after 2-3 months from new so relatively speaking you are doing fine.

That's Einstein's special theory of relativity and you need his general theory if you're looking at gravity. As his field equations aren't very friendly we could just use Newton's method which gives an accurate enough approximation in this case:

F = G (m1 x m2) / r^2

Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

That's a first. Usually they blame wheel cleaning products but gravity is good. Being of the engineering bent, I guess the service bod was referring to the increased heat generated by trying to stop a 2.7 tonne brick outhouse. Laughing 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!

I can't help but think that the lack of consideration is linked to the increase in "I know my rights" (and associated crap) in the common consciousness. Too many people think only of their own position with no thought about others. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Which is ironic because these people who tend to winge/enforce their rights are the first to try to infringe others rights to enable their own Whistle Mike

Indeed. Having worked for over 20 years in Local Govt., I've met far too many of them in my time. Usually they have done lots of work to their property and then do everything they can to stop their neighbours doing similar work. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
