Crazy problems

Today the following happened.
Engine management light on, engine fault gearbox fault and park brake fault on message board, central locking going nuts with no key in ignition, also if locked hazards keep flashing.
Have taken battery off, seems magic eye is black and not green, going to get it tested as car won't start.
Used it first thing this morning so I know mechanically its ok, could a duff battery be causing all this?
Never had any off this before so could a duff battery cause this?

Cheers, taff. Range Rover Vogue Classic 3.9 V8 1992
