Rear light clusters

Well this is embarrassing. Can't get my rear lights out. Took out the securing screws and the lights move a little but can't seem to get any further. Is there a knack to this? Please help - feeling a right k Censored b. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

You need to give the light a tug towards you. Try putting a spatular behind the light at the side of the vehicle and lever it slightly, but becareful not to crack the lense. Embarassed

Great. Thanks for the tips really appreciate it. I'll make another attempt after I've found a suitable soft plastic tool. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Put something (like a towel) on the top of the bumper first so you don't scratch it...then it's wriggle the body side out with brute force Mike

Thanks again for all the helpful responses. All sorted. A couple of soft plastic filler spreaders and an old towel did the trick with no damage to the paint. Just wanted to check the stop/tail light bulbs in case they they were not kosher LR parts. (I'm still looking for any cause for my car's odd habit of momentarily losing power on the motorway - and checking the easy things first) Turns out they are very generic looking with no manufacturer's name on and markings include 'HUNGARY'. Oddly tho' they seem to have a date on marked as 05 Apr 07 which would suggest they are the originals? Confused 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
