2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey
Operation of Sat Nav in MY13.5 RRS HSE Black

Just trying to understand the difference between how the sat nav operates and what the manual actually states.

1) When I chose a destination from ( in this case ) the favorites, it does not offer 3 routes. The manual seems to say that it should and from what I remember of my long gone 2006 HSE, it should do so. Any ideas?

2) Am I correct in that you can only specify a destination and not a route with a final destination and waypoints on the way.
Again I thought that was possible and I like to do it to make sure that it is going along my preferred route on a 3 day trip down through Europe.
If you can only select one then I have no way of checking what it will do on the next day in advance.
Hope that makes sense. Whistle 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

First your satnav is the same as any 2013my car, but different to the 12my car. Only just hit the half year point no changes.

Second, you still get three routes, just view the menu. When you set the route I think there is a key you press to show other routes from memory.

Finally, you can still put waypoints along the route, there are a couple of simple ways to do it...one is to set your route the select another destination as a waypoint

Hope that helpd Mike

Thanks mse, I will try again in the morning regarding the 3 routes, not sure what you mean about the waypoints but I will give it a go. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

If you don't see the key when setting you destination, go into the menu and look for the big icon that's 3 different coloured arrows.

Just try setting a route and then changing the destination, it will ask you do you want to add as a waypoint...there are other ways, but I'm not sure how best to explain it on here and from memory Mike

I have managed it now, not the most intuitive system I have used. The key was to actually set the final destination completely and then as you say you can come back and set/change the route and add waypoints. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

I can't get the three routes either...just shows one with a slight variation. My 2010 gave three clear distinct routes. Any way for the MY 13 to do so?

Is there any way to interrogate the TMC on the MY13 like on the MY 10...to see why the satnav is sending you a bizzare route?

After you have selected the destination there is a box on screen that says "review route".

There is also an option under TMC to look at events, but as I live on a road that does not "exist" I can cannot look at them until I join the route!! Rolling with laughter 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Remember this sat nav system learns your preferences and also you tell it what type of route you prefer (which is why it doesnt give you the options by default like the old system where it doesnt learn and you cant tell it.

Anyway

When you enter your destination (completely and are at the map screen) - hit menu, i think its page two and you can hit the routes big button and view the three routes. (all from memory) you can definitely see 3 distinct routes. Mike

It does that automatically as well - and better information, although i would say to get to it its in a stupid place

Menu, second screen hit TMC then you have a range of options to play with - including traffic issues on your route.

I think they should have made it so you can click the yellow/red/green traffic indicator - the theory why you cant is that it will tell you when appropriate along your route...im not convinced Mike

me neither...I know how to find it...but it only shows on route problems, so if the sat nav diverts you, you can't find out why...if there is a problem, or satnav being stupid...like sending you off a junction on a road and then staright back on...as it always does at a partuicular roundabout on the A19

You can do that as well - we were using that when driving through Europe.

If it diverts you you can see what the problem is and look at the delay time - actually we found the European network better than the UK for info

From memory its a button you press to display the divert then see the problem Mike
