2.7 HSE Advice

I have had my 55 reg 2.7 hse for exactly 3 months now and it is due an MOT at the end of April. After speaking to the indy garage that last serviced the car in October I decided to let a mechanic I trust look at it to see if the problems still exist!

He has found the followng problems:

Play in OSF bottom ball joint
Front diff slight oil leak
Play in the steering rack OS
Front bottom wishbone rear bushes worn
A rattle from the Multi V Belt Tensioner (which is apparantly hanging loose and needs sorting asap) not sure what this is lol
Rear pads low

The other problem I have is that the passenger door does not lock, and looking into this it seems the latch needs replacing which is not ideal as anyone car just open the door!

I bought the car from a dealer who has apparantly provided me with a 6 month warranty so I have contacted him to see how I go about sorting things.

How big are the above jobs (other than pads) and do you guys think this sort of stuff should be covered by the dealer?

I guess most of this will be placed at the door of wear and tear. But.... I would be shouting loud saying the car should be able to pass an MOT after three months of buying it. The door lock isn't major but should be covered by dealer. Front diff is a known problem and should be fixed as should the belt tensioner. How many med have you done since purchase? 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈

yeh bearing in mind the car cost roughly £17k you would expect it to pass an MOT wthin a matter of weeks!

luckily i have spoken to a garage who looked at the car not long before bought it and they can confirm a few of the problems so this should prove they were there before i bought it. I have only done roughly 1500 miles

Take it back then and hand them the list and say you'll be back to pick it up when done. And wallet staying in pocket. Would like to think they would throw in an MOT as well Thumbs Up 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

problem is the dealer is out of town! i have emailed him and he says hes away for a few days and to call the warranty company and speak to him when he gets back.

i was given a 6th month warranty with the car through a company called customer protect but im sure these will just say 'wear and tear'

luckily i have proof of a few faults from june and october last year so surely these should cover me through the soga??

Out of town Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter
I would land it to his door and remind him that faults known prior to vehicle sale won't be covered by any warranty company.
Sounds a bit like this is Mr Spiv back street dealer.
I suspect this may end up in small claims court. Whistle 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
