I had a fl1 for second car before the mini and having owned fl2's in the past I wish I had gone for one of them now instead of the mini

The "it's rubbish off road" argument is rather odd in a forum where probably 99% of owners never take their 4x4 off road... I spoke with a chap at a shoot this season. He was driving a Cayenne and had specced it so that he could use it off road around his farm and on shoots. Said that it would go everywhere he needed to get to in a lot more comfort and ease than his Defender. The Cayenne has a low range box and centre diff lock - and can be had with locking rear diff too I believe - the same as the Touareg. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Have you looked at the Cayenne's cousin, the Touareg? They can be had for reasonable money these days. Get the right spec and they're as good off road as a Sport. If you don't need a "proper" 4x4 then how about the Audi Allroad? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

I don't any form of offroading at all, a bit of snow is all I have to contend with, I just fancy something big and different with some prestige such as the Porsche. I think the early patrols are such a lot of car for the money. Apart from its looks everyone seems to have good things to say about them, are they more reliable than land rover products?? |

Had a Touareg bought new before the Sports very very good car offroad, my only problem with it was my wife being of slightly shorter stature kept hitting her head on getting in and out roof/raked windscreen because her seat was further forward than mine. I went on VW offroad day thingey they do very very well with the right tyres Dirt cheap for a reliable big 4 x 4 - Landrover could learn from their reliability Paul L405 Loire Blue Swift Conqueror 645 Abarth 500c |
