£15K Shocked

Think it might be time to sell mine Laughing

Good idea starting with an older van and see if you like it Thumbs Up

My first van was ancient but eventually forked out for a new one when we were sure and could justify the outlay - we looked at many overpriced trashed second hand ones Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

i was looking at the superstorm or supercyclone can't remember which it was, but new it was best part of £20K and weighed a lot, kept looking and found the 636,

Good idea to have a try out caravan, and see if you like it and the lifestyle, we do, but the travelling doesn't agree with the kids, even with the in car DVD they can get bored, especially if we do a long haul after school, when we went to the lakes, did a 3+ hour slog up to the Troutbeck and 30 mins in he was whining that he was bored, got there and it was bouncing it down, unhitched, throwed his water proofs at him and told him to explore the site with his mum and his torch, peace and quite whilst i set up the caravan and the Sky HD

back when i started I looked at second hand ones and they were all dark and nothing came to jump out at us, so i ended up buying new, swapped it a year later as the layout was wrong for us and kept that caravan for something like 8 years, only swapping because we fancied it, got a good trade in and a excellent price for the new one

things like the new Isabella awning and twin motor mower cost me a small fortune though Shocked

Bought my 2010 at end of season when dealers were making room for the 2011 model so saved a few grand Thumbs Up

It will be 3 year old end of this season and main warranty will expire but still has another 3 year on water ingress so plan to keep it a few more years - particularly as it has been faultless - unlike the RRS Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

We've looked at loads since June last year.

This wasn't initially our 1st choice, with us both aiming for the Bailey 646. Which is a very light and airy van.
I found one, struck a great deal (£11k on a 2011 van with everything included)

But at the 11th hour the Mrs got cold feet and said she didn't want to take out finance... so the only option was to purchase one outright.... and when your budget is £8k there isn't much out there that had the space and layout we wanted.

As a result this Bessacarr stood head and shoulders above the rest (in my opinion).

I've managed to buy a 2nd hand Truma TE from Stowford Caravans for £700 fitted (inc a mini break) so have saved some on that expense!

The awning is a bradshaw, but has fibre poles which was my only insistance RRS gone

were as my old caravan, I chucked away my 3 year warranty at the end of the 1st year, by getting it serviced late, instead of November I got it serviced at the start of the caravan season in March. Didn't miss a beat though, but i took a extended warranty out just in case. But it was my own stupid fault

The fact you subscribed to it, shows a tendency toward the mobile life, maybe deep down there is a love for the caravan way of life, supressed by a childhood event, or you was a pikey in a past life Thumbs Up

sorry yes Bradcot Embarassed

I like the Alko wheel lock but at £250 I passed!

I've just bought a similar designed "PurpleLine Nemisis Ultra Wheel lock" which clamps to the wheel lug and then has a rod perpendicular to the alloy that goes through the spokes.
