Hi,

I can open the tailgate via the key but don't seem to be able to close it using the key, is this correct behaviour? I have read the manual but it's not clear whether you can or can't use the key to close.

It's a failing, probably a result of H&S

You can open via the remote, the dashboard on the tailgate, you can only close via the tailgate.  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

You can also stop it opening by pressing any button...but closure is through the one switch (stupid) Mike

2014 Facelift Discovery

I had this annoyance with a BMW convertible. It's great pressing the key fob to get the roof and windows down to cool the car down before you get in it, but sadly there was no way of putting it up from inside the house when the heavens opened. You'd just have to go out, get soaked and trash your interior whilst waiting for the roof to unstow.

(Mind you, probably serves us right for thinking a chop top coupe was a good idea in the first place)...

However, there was an aftermarket way of having the car enable an open and close function from the key fob and I wonder if anyone has found a way of doing it as yet for the tailgate on the RRS.
