WANTED - Range Rover Sport

HGG are pleased to announce that we now have a dedicated Used Car Buyer. We are keen to buy vehicles up to 4 years old and 40,000 miles with franchised service histories.

If you have agreed to part exchange your vehicle at another dealer, then why not give our buyer a call as we may be able to improve on what you have been offered. Alternatively if you are looking to sell privately and would prefer to avoid the hassle then let us know.

We are able to offer a quick decision and valuation, will collect from UK mainland, and can provide electronic payment on collection.

Please feel free to call Clive Head on 07824 770621 or email clive.head@hadleygreen.co.uk

The automotive version of gazumping...and just as despicable. Censored 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Absoloutely not at all. A part exchange is purely a mechanism to perform part of full payment for a new (or used) vehicle, generally offered/accepted for convenience. Convenience sometimes comes at a cost therefore buyers should shop around for the best deal AND price for their existing car.

Only trying to help forum members save a few pennies, and for us to continue stocking good quality vehicles. I think you'd be surprised at how many vehicles we buy this way by being approached by customers and forum members (since 2005 when I first joined the forum (another sign on)). The original post is to direct members towards our buyer due to the volume of enquiries.

Certainly nothing untoward.

Re: WANTED - Range Rover Sport

I can thoroughly recommend the service offered by James at Hadley Green Land Rover and his buyer, Clive Head, for sale of your Range Rover Sport!!

I recently negotiated a good deal for purchase of a new Black Edition from my local LR dealer. They also offered a reasonable part exchange allowance for my current Sport, but were happy for me to sell it elsewhere if I could get a better price.

I was very tempted to try for a private sale but concerned about the potential risks and hassle, so submitted a post to the RRS Forum seeking advice on whether a private sale was a sensible/realistic option for a 3 year old Sport.

Along came James with an offer to put me in touch with Clive.

Clive came up with a better offer (than my local dealer) - enough to persuade me that it wasn't worth pursuing a private sale.

Deal now done. Money in the bank. Car collected this morning. Simple!

An extremely positive experience all round - good price, no hassle, no risk, and very helpful/friendly people to do business with.

My thanks to both James and Clive for their help!!

Thanks Rick, glad all went well and that you were pleased with Clive's service. I look forward to seeing your (old) car in person over the next few days.

Jim - I'm so sorry that you've not been contacted by Clive. I must confess (although its not an excuse) that I caused him to be inundated with emails an messages following my posts. My guess is he may have missed your message. If possible could you send to him again (I've just emailed him to check his inbox for the original message) or please send to me at james.tayler@hadleygreen.co.uk and I'll make sure he gets it.

Thanks all. If Clive has not come back to you (couple of cases) then could you forward the original email to him at clive.head@hadleygreen.co.uk as he had in the region of 40 enquiries in the 24 hours following my posts. Not an excuse, so apologies, but the level of response has taken him by surprise. Thanks in advaice to Jawa and Jim for your patience.

Hi Jim,

To give a little justification as to why Clive can't add any more to our stock is that he bought a batch of 10 18 month old Freelander's from LR, therefore we are a bit 'heavy' in that area.

Believe it or not, we profile our stock based on DVLA 'Teritory' Data in terms of what models sell and by age range in our direct teritory. This then gives us an ideal stock holding with which to try to stick to. I.e. x FL2, x RRS, x Disco etc, which then means that we do not over-stock in a certain area. In fairness I am the one that Police's this as there is a finite amount of of money that we have available to stock the forecourt, therefore it needs to be utilised in the right split of models, especially as vehicles depreciate with every Glass's Guide meanining that stock control and stock turn is paramount.

Hopefully the above is not too boring Yawn Yawn Yawn ........... but in other words, if we have a good weekend and sell 6 or 7 Freelanders then Clive will be scanning through his contact book and underwrites trying to locate some stock.

I hope this explains the situation, and justifies that there has to be a little science involved regarding purchasing stock which sometimes means that we have to turn the occasional car away. In fairness we had too many Evoques before christmas therefore the chequebook was closed in that respect regardless as to how fast moving the model is.
