Hello !, I planned a ski holiday and want to take along own ski's. My dealer recommended to buy the roofrails, crossbars and ski carrier (which I can imagine for that price). Now I found a used pair but original RR crossbars on internet and seller told me he fitted the crossbars without the roofrail on his RRS HSE 2009 ?! Can anyone confirm ? Has there been a change in "railsystem" since modelyear 2010 ? Thanks in advance, Gilbert 3.0TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey, Almond premium, Diamond Turned Style 4 |

instead of a rails I have black strips fitted on the sides of the roof at wich I can't see any bolt holes, only 3 round plastic "buttons". I presume that these need to be taken out to uncover the bolt holes ? I doubt that one single fixingpoint will be enough when we attack the autobahn 3.0TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey, Almond premium, Diamond Turned Style 4 |

These are Great, but also the Thule, you can much easier fix, as these are clamped.

Thank's for the response and useful info. Apparently I should be able to directly fit the crossbars. Will make an appoinment now with seller and check if we can put them on "on site". Will post the result. Thank's again !

Thats it those buttons reveal the whole that the rails bolt into, there are bars you just bolt the bar plate into that hole (thus removing the need for the rails). Hope that makes sense Mike 2014 Facelift Discovery |

those crossbars are just for the fixed LR roof-rails. you cant fix them without the roof-rails. safe that way... |
