I really do not like the "soft roader"-look protection plates front and rear. What odds on them being plastic and pointless?

Disagree with you there. The RRS looks exactly like what it is - a sportier version if the old mans range rover.

And the soft roader look will be different come he launch I'm sure. Also, is the soft roader look you don't like much like the additional plastic parts and trim the current autobiography carries? Plastic, pointless, but ultimately look good? MY10 HSE 3.0 TDV6 : Santorini Black : Ebony Interior w/Anigre wood : Privacy Glass (total) : Sunroof : Sidesteps : Hybrid TV : Detachable Tow Kit : Spare Wheel Cover : 22" Dished Supersports

Rubbish. Some of us prefer the look of the sport. I had the FF before my sport and would stick with the sport now. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

I agree I had one of the early 2003 FF and liked it but find the Sport so much more enjoyable to drive and more pleasing to look at. I'm sure the new one will be a great sportier version of the "big daddy"..

Im Not happy with that lost Form-Follows-Funktion Design.
Landrover did always modern Cars with understated classy design.

Now we have a plastic pampers end, and an asia style front, but the shape in General is very nice.

But, as Front and Rear dominating the Impact, i would say, the britishness got lost for trendy applications ala Ford Kuga.
Sorry, but too close to all of the other SUVs in the market for me.
Just my opinion, i am sure, most of the People will like it, as it is visible like posh-spice, and maybe a bit sexy to own... Wink

I have to wait how it looks on the streets, but maybe for me it is the FFRR stylewise a bit more matching, or we will see how the next Disco comes, because my next car must be again a famous LR product. Thumbs Up

No, don't like the Autobiography kit either - build a very capable off road vehicle and then reduce its approach and departure angles by slapping cheap plastic lower valances on it. Bizarre. It doesn't even look that good. Better than most of the aftermarket stuff though, I'll grant you that. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Regarding the Asia style there might be a reason for that.
Asia is becoming one of the largest consumer for luxury goods. 91 BMW 850CSI

The Sunday Times driving section has an article and some pictures today. Reporting that there will be a hybrid version in 2014 but for now ALL engines available for the FFRR will be available for the new Sport.

where on earth did the sunday times get that photo? must be the worst mock up ever! they have just photoshopped an evoke front end onto the current sport body. the bonnet has the same central bulge as the current one, but this one on the road has the edges raised like the old classic RR
