How do I transfer cassettes to CD?

I have just replaced my 24 year old B&O Beosystem 2200 which is a cassette player and am/fm receiver with a Bose 3-2-1 GSX home entertainment system which does everything EXCEPT play cassettes. Now.................... I have 3-400 cassettes, some of which I still like to listen to, I also have about 150 records (most of you are too young to remember them! Laughing ) that I cannot now play.
So here's a question for all of you audio/hifi experts................. is it possible to transfer my favourite cassettes and records to over to MP3 files on CD/DVD's? What kit do I require to do it.
I still have the B&O system and wonder if it is possible to hook it up via the AUX out to my PC or Laptop or even to the Bose(which cannot record cds but has storage capacity for the equivalent of 200cds and dvds on it's hard drive?

I think you'll need a 'DIN to Phono' lead and preferably a CD/DVD Recorder.

then basically a load of time on your hands Smile

Tim,

I guess you understood what I meant? I am proposing you use your old B&O system and connect the DIN outputs to a CD/DVD Recorder. Alternatively you could record it directly to a pc (just need a Phono-3.5mm Jack connector)

The only issue you might find is the volume levels - not sure what the B&O line levels are

Kaine - The B&O has recording level red and green LEDs and an adjustment on the output side.
