United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black
Is it really worth trying to sell privately?

I am due to take delivery of a new RRS Black Edition on or around 1st March.

I have been offered a good discount on the new car and a reasonably good part exchange allowance on my old RRS
(2010/10 TDV6 3.0 HSE with VERY low mileage - 13250mls).

My car will be 3 years old on 18 March and therefore LR warranty runs out and will be due for a service & MOT. Tax runs out end Feb. Part ex takes all this into account.

I am tempted to try a private sale but not sure its worth the potential hassle.

Has anyone got (hopefully) positive experience of selling a £35-40K RRS privately or would most people buying a car at this price expect dealer facilities eg part ex/finance etc

Can anyone suggest any traders/dealers who may pay sensible money for an RRS

Personally, I would not bother. I am in about the same situation as you, my RRS will turn 3 years in May and I am trying to figure out what to do next. I know for sure I will not be selling privately, but through a dealer (the question for me is though: when). Vadim A.

Regarding the recommendation: get in touch with Looker Park Royal (London), see what they say. Also, drop a pm to James, see what he has to say. Vadim A.

We wouldn't be a million miles from the figure you're suggesting. If you want to drop me a PM then I will ask our buyer to contact you....... You wouldn't even need to come to HGG!! Simple!

I am in the market for a RRS, have been looking for a few months, wanting the right one, colour/spec/price etc. I always look to buy private over a dealership/garage,(although I know I will be in the minority) as I have found the difference can be as much as a few grand. It's not too say if the right one came along which was in the dealership/garage I wouldn't buy it, but it wouldn't be my first option. Buying privately gives you the freedom of purchasing, warranties, finance, loans etc from where you wish, so as long as the potential buyer has done their homework and is genuine, don't see a problem, also for a perhaps a little bit of hassle, I dare say you won't feel like you have had your pants pulled down by the dealer, trading it in! Current transport : Audi S4 V8 Cabriolet, Suzuki GSXR600 K1

I have always done a deal with the dealer on the trade-in so that the deal finances are all sorted.

Then whilst waiting for delivery I have advertised it privately and then any money I get over the trade-in price is money for me! Last RRS I made £3000 over the trade-in price. 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

Very Happy OK. Good to know, they needed a shake up there, still waiting for them to ring me about a test drive!
That was back in 2011 though. Rolling Eyes SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.
