Be very careful!

Just before Christmas a guy in Middlesbrough advertised his RRS for sale in Auto Trader and after a few telephone calls with a male from Kent agreed a price and agreed to collect from Darlington Train Station. The buyer gave a bankers draft and drove away in the car and when the bankers draft was put in the bank it was a very good fake.
I'm pretty sure this wont be a one off so make sure the funds are clear before letting your car go!!!

If you are going to take a bankers draft, insist the person takes you a branch of his bank, and have the bankers draft done in your presence! They make good fake monies these days, so why would one think they can't make good fake bankers drafts!

In fairness it's probably easier to be duped by a fake draft or BS cheque than counterfeit cash as I guess we are all more used to handling cash.

Best to be very wary indeed when taking any type of payment.

There is a guy advertising a white 59 plate 3.0 HSE 24k on clock in the Lincolnshire area, wants £12740
Says it is uk spec car, no accidents, has taken it home to Berlin, payment includes transporting vehicle back to UK.
Sent very nice pics of car, reg AD 59 ANG does anyone know this car or its owner?
Me thinks rabbit off somewhere!!!!

Very common scam if you google it. Common theme is the seller in the army or working abroad etc

Have a look on SCAMWARNERS for very similar stories TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten
