Dealers who thrash customer cars

Now I'm no angel when it comes to driving my car, but I do not generally thrash it.

My car was in for its first MOT today & a load of yellow warning lights, and I was horrified when I got an email alert to say the car was speeding.

I checked the tracker & its being driven at 93mph !!

The advantages of a tracker system in my car and all our company vehicles

I think when I collect it tomorrow I'll be having a word with the dealer principle !!

Be interested to hear what the excuse is given that the ABS is not working properly & it needs a part for ABS to work correctly to pass the MOT.

Just shows how they treat a customer's car ! Paul

Shocking.....would love to be a fly on the wall when you have that discussion with them. Wink
I'd expect somebody to be in the firing line as 93mph is not acceptable IMHO (and like you I'm no angel on the road, but it's my car, not a customers we're talking about).

There's a few people post the clips from their in car camera's when the cars in the dealers, make some interesting viewing too. Laughing ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

On arrival to pick your motor up, ask for the dealer principle the service manager and the technician who road tested your motor to be present on explaining all the work that has been carried out on your vehicle, then hit them with both barrels. Thumbs Up I'm glad ive got an incar camera that records everything. Thumbs Up

There is absolutely no excuse for driving at that speed. It is illegal!!!!!
Dont pay for any work, your tracker has just repaid itself.

Re: Dealers who thrash customer cars

Not condoning the behaviour, but speeding doesn't necessarily mean thrashing.

I can drive my RRS up to below the speed limit and hit 6000 RPM in each gear from cold over and over again.

Conversly, I can accelerate to 100mph gently without breaking 3500 RPM in each gear (although maybe 100mph would break 3.5k Embarassed), all that after ensuring the engine is nice and warm.

I'd be pretty annoyed if a dealer did the first, the second I'd be less concerned about. A speeding fine would be redirected to them in an instant Mr. Green

Your right I'm focusing on the maximum speed with a car with an ABS fault, but looking in detail on the tracker speeds were 67 in a 50, 93 in a 70 then slowing down for a roundabout, round the roundabout then back up to 92 in a 70 slowed to 90 in a 70 back to 70 in a 50, 7 miles in 8 minutes, including a 50mph zone a roundabout with traffic lights and a dual carraigeway is not what I would call considerate driving to MY car . Paul
