Mudflaps or no mud flaps that is the question

And should I ask my dealer for a freebie along with rubber mats (I did pay for a set of premium mats £105) 2013 13.5 MY HSE BLACK with privacy glass, vision assist pack, side steps and ebony headlining

Yes yes yes and yes. Thumbs Up I've got them on mine with the AB kit as well and they do look good IMO. However when I ordered them and asked them to fit them, they ordered the wrong ones and I ended up fitting them. Twisted Evil Only took about 20 minutes for both but they do protect the crap from slinging up the rear bumper a bit. I would assume that if your are going to go off road a lot then not perhaps a good idea.
The picture in my gallery only shows the front as they were fitted when I picked up the car. It is what it is and I am what I am....

Yes i have them on mine too, but i'm sure they cause more crap to swirl around the back end and cover the rear more, than without the flaps. Whistle but i must admit, sports look better with them than without.

Has anyone fitted after market mud flaps to a 2010MY onwards? I need a set for my car but they seem very expensive for what they are. There seem to be plenty available up to 2010MY with the old part numbers but I assume they will not fit the later car.

Thanks!

As is sometimes (well often actually) the case, I disagree.

I had them on my 1st RRS and made sure I didn't have them on my 2nd. Although your British roads are very muddy and dirty, the RRS looks better without (in my opinion).

Mud flaps do not seem to keep the back any cleaner. When the car is dirty, lots of high speed "sprayed" dirt / mud looks great. The RRS looks good either sparkling clean or really dirty.

No to flaps, they are for old people! Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2009 Buckingham Blue RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2010 Alaska White RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated

Current - 2010 Java Black RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Current- 2024 RRS P400 SE Dynamic

Agree, and the same counts for side steps. SW

no for side steps yes for mud flaps

i drive on filthy roads, its nice to keep the car a bit cleaner for longer when i want it to be clean.

ive also had mine off roading and had no problems. i quite like the look as well.

as for buying non LR ones, its not worth it, the genuine ones fit perfectly and its only the same price as a tank of fuel if you think about it

I've got mud flaps and side steps.

The steps are great if you are using the vehicle anywhere less than clean. Being able to step across mud/puddles/yuck and keep your feet clean is great. Also great for standing on and knocking snow off your feet before getting it - much dryer footwell. S'funny but I'd planned to take the steps off when I first bought the vehicle as I thought they were a bit, well, footballer. Turns out to be one of the more useful mods one can make. Oh and they provide a little bit of protection to the door cill mouldings if you venture off tarmac - not full rock sliders of course but they do help. Mine have a couple of dings in them to prove it Laughing

Mud flaps make a huge difference to keeping crud down. They're a useful service to following drivers too as they help to reduce spray a little. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Another vote for mudflaps. I fitted mine myself, easy to do. They make a definite difference in helping to keep small stones and mud from the car.

As for steps...had them on my Disco 4 and grew to wish I never put them on. They restrict off-roading ability and get bent. If you aren't going off-road, then they will be fine but I've decided to keep my options open this time round. Proper rock sliders would be ok though. Current car: Porsche 911 Carrera S PDK (997.2) Past Car: (MY12) Range Rover Sport HSE SDV6 - Orkney Grey with Almond interior

Indeed so. If only someone made them for the RRS it would be great. Unfortunately, the only ones I've seen are in the US or Oz and importing them to the UK makes them very expensive. A rock slider that acted as a step too would be top of my list. Bow down 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
