Forward Alert system - false positive error

I have two Forward Alerts fitted - the Land Rover factory fitted Forward Alert which also enables adaptive cruise control, plus the optional extra Mrs ilard forward alert (replete with imaginary brake peddle). For avoidance of doubt, this question relates to the Land Rover supplied Forward Alert option.

I just had the 24 month service and now on start up I get the amber warning error "Forward Alert not available" Crying or Very sad , but at the same time the familiar green icon for Forward Alert lights up and contrary to the error message both Forward Alert systems still work. To test this, I raced up behind a Nissan Micra stationary at traffic lights and observed the response from both system's - one goes beep beep beep and the other sucks their teeth and then sighs heavily Thumbs Up

This false positive error is very tedious as I will obviously have to trek down to the dealer again for some TLC, but I just wondered if anyone else has had similar false positive alerts on their RRS and if there was any commonality? Are there any tricks to stop this happening without me have to pay a visit to the dealer? L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

I had something similar but on older model, turned out to be a wiring loom failure from body to bumper. Had now been replaced twice in five years where it rubs through. When I had the bumper off for paint, I rerouted loom, wrapped it in foamed tape and added a few more self adhesive cable clips so it shouldn't happen again. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!

Apparently the Forward Alert false positive error was related to a faulty NSF ABS sensor. All fixed under warranty. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

You could trade in Mrs Ilard v1.0 for girlfriend v2.0 Shocked

Be warned that the two are completely incompatible and the 'upgrade' is irreversable. Shocked

Wink Thumbs Up
