I've been kicking about on the FreeL2 forum for ages, but time to move onwards & upwards and this single owner low mileage one caught my eye.

Can't comment on the price or the dealer, but it looks a tidy example with plenty of pictures which you should hopefully avoid any surprises when you get there.

It looks a nice motor but for top money, judging by the advert its had one previous owner so i guess thats two in total, have a search around the usual sites at RRS for sale and compare prices & specs.

You could get a TDV8 for that but might have to go for a slightly higher mileage say 50k TDV8 HSE, Remap (+45 BHP + 100 Nm), Taylored sport exhaust system by Pipe Werx

Non LR dealers seem to have similar lowish milage 47k FL2 XS for about £14k RRP so maybe expecting to clear £13k at sale? He's offered £12k ish for mine (Sat Nav, 19" Triple Sports) & in great condition, webuyanycar £10.7k, so plenty of head-room with the FL2 for him to make around £1k. So really he wants my FL2 + £15k & I'd prefer my FL2 + £10k so I'm sure we'll end up in the middle as I believe it's worth maybe £25k...

This dealer is pretty much at the end of my road! Never even been there kits new premises with a lot of stock in there he's had a few sports some where higher mileage but apart from that .....

£27k for a 2.7 RRS? Wow!

If you must have a 2.7, you can get a 2009 from LR with an LR warranty for that.

Or a TDV8...from LR with an LR warranty.

Or a S/C and lots of spare cash for fuel...  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Don't worry I won't be spending £27k on it!

I have an 07 FL2 XS at the moment with 47k on the clock, so I want a newer vehicle, with a higher spec. and with less miles, so a RRS HSE 08 onwards with <40k miles. Plugging that into the LR site within the UK comes up with 16 vehicles currently, the cheapest being almost identical to what I'm viewing on Monday 2009 (5 HSE 2.7, 34k miles Inc warranty at £28,695...so £1700 more from a main dealer with warranty.

The LR Approved warranty is worth more than the asking price in my experience. Make sure whatever warranty you get is at least as good or the £1700 difference in price between LR dealer and A.N.Other garage might get swallowed up in repair bills... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

58HSE... That's at the other end of the village. Never been in, but pass by twice a day. A family run business, in new purpose built premises... looks plush and seems to have a good turn over of nicer used cars than many of the c*ap dealers in P'Boro. Price wise it looks a little OTT, but if you can get a price to change that you want, it looks a good RRS.

Thanks for the heads up on the weather, travelling from Hampshire, so will see how the day unfold before making the trip. My office is in Letchworth, where I stay over 1 night a week hence it is localish to there. The FL2 won't have an issue with the snow, it's the other idiots on the road!

Decided against it...

Loved the car & superb to drive, even the 2.7TDV6 sounds great, but too many niggles;

- No proper service history, despite being a 58 plate, had just a stamp from an independent in Jan '10 & different garage Oct '11 Looks like it had never been near a dealer
- Reg had been swapped to a different 58 plate at some point although VIN matched up
- Alloys badly scuffed so would need a refurb
- front end clunk over pot-holes - bushes?
- A few marks on the dash/leather + cig. lighter well used

He offered £11k for the FL2, but still wanted £15k cash but would throw in a Landrover Dealer Service & 12 month warranty & alloy refurb, but still top whack so walked away... and he seemed desperately keen to sell...
