United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zambezi Silver
Sort of Newbie

Hello,

after my washer issue I thought I better give a full introduction!

I've had a Mercedes G-Wagen and 2 Range Rovers before, an N reg Overfinch Classic that was sadly crashed into the day before I started medical school and taken from me (still not over it) and a 2000 P38 that I knew was a bad idea, and yes it was a bad idea, great, if it worked.

So, after 5 years of studying after qualification my silly purchase was made. I have known my car from new, it was bought new by the people that bought our old family home and my dad then bought it off of them. When it got to the end of medical school I was looking for a RR, dad was after a discovery to fit the grandkids in, so I ended up buying him a 2009 Discovery 3, and taking the Sport off of his hands!

I use it properly, dog in the back, everyone in for rugby, but do keep it clean, its a 2006 HSE TDV6 with rear screens

Here it is with the Discovery replacement and looking shiny...

My first trip with it in my ownership was to the welsh 2 day enduro, taking in my favourite driving roads on the way to Llandrindod Wells (surprised with the handling) then with quite a bit of off-roading. I was so impressed by what it dealt with over 2 days, up through forestry and then out from a special test through a nasty bog on the second day (where the 4x4 Navaro ambulance was stuck) with everyone watching waiting for it to get stuck. I love how i could sit there in jeans and a t-shirt, soft leather and music on going through stuff usually saved for the camo brigade!

Its been superb having it, the fuel costs may be double my friends eco polo but getting in after a long shift is just lovely and worth every penny! Last night I ended up having 3 senior staff members along for the journey to work in the snow, its been great.

I hope to get on the forum as much as work permits, but be good to try and have an input and a bit of a laugh, I know from before these forums are priceless with help.

Hope you are all enjoying the snow,

Tommy

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

Welcome! Great to see a Sport being used rather than polished and modded. It's really refreshing to see - and reminds me of how good looking a vehicle the Sport is without all of the usual styling addenda.

Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Nice to see your RRS being used how it should (although I hate mud, luckily we don't have much here living on a sand dune) but even nicer to see your RRS not pimped or bastardised, it must be one of the only un-modded cars in the UK!

Have you had some paintwork to the RHS as the driver's door and front wing look like a different colour to the rear RH door? Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

Thanks for the nice comments, I do like it looking standard, just gets on with being great for what it is not what it looks like

As for the paint, it does really bother me that from angles the doors look different, but as I said I've known the car very well from when it left the factory and hasn't had a spray gun near it, it's odd, anyone else with a silver one have the same issue?

Tommy

Hello!

It's been stupidly long since I have managed to get on here, partly due to on call stints and partly due to this longer stretch of winter making the hospital chaotically busy.

The range has been doing great, trips to work mostly, trips to the beach, bit of laning to get to the beach, and a stint as a van to clear the garden (which resulted in some funny looks from the Gordon and Mildred's at the tip, I think they weren't expecting me to drag a bush out of the back) but she is sitting tidy and shiny now, the clay and wax treatment I did in the winter still working.

I found out why the door is a different tone, the first owners had an incident where the oak garage got picked up by the wind and bought down. The range wasn't in the garage but that door got a scrape on it so was sprayed, I can't even be angry as they bought the farm from us and we built the garage!!!

Otherwise, I have a bit of headlight droop (3rd nerve palsy in medical terms) but that will do like all range rover faults do, and fix itself by tonight!

Hope you are all well,
