iPhone 5 Phone Book via Bluetooth 2007 RRS

l'm sure this has been covered a million times before, but please bear with me:

Just got a new iPhone 5 and it connects up fine and l can use it, but it is not displaying the contacts/phone book as it is displayed on the phone or as l want it to be. lt also shows all the email addresses too.

l realise that l can go into 'Settings' and go to 'Mail, contacts, calendar' and then go to 'Contacts' and then it has 'Sort Order' and 'Display Order' which l have set both to 'First, Last'.

Also, if l go into 'Contacts' l have the choice of selecting either "iCloud, All iCloud" or "Hotmail, All Hotmail" or both. By selecting just iCloud it displays my phone book (on the phone) as l want it.

Have l lost you all yet?

Basically l want to know how do l replicate my phone book in the car as it is on my phone.

Many thanks,
CycleSi

This has come up a few times.

It's to do with the Bluetooth module in the 2007, you're best off upgrading it for a later unit.

If you do a couple of searches on the forum you'll find more info. 2007 TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

The biggest problem seems to be getting hold of them both - l've sent a PM to both so l guess l'll just have to wait to hear from them.

Patients is a virtue my friend, i'm sure they both have lives to live and I dare say your phone is probably not their main priority, im sure they will get back to you in due course Thumbs Up

Yes; of course. I appreciate that.

It will get sorted out I'm sure one way or another.

Cheers.

Spoke to Si last night,
He already has the phonebook software on the BT module, so has the latest version.
The issue appears to be the way that Apple manage the contacts, both in terms of the types of contacts shown (emails for example) and the strange order that seems to not be very consistent.

I have a similar issue with a 4s but I have the disco4 BT module in my d3 so that seems to rule out LR Bt as the d4 module is much improved.
It appears to be something onthe apple side, we're just not sure what that something is!!! Bodsys Brake Bible

Hi this is what i did with mine as it was doing something similar

Go through your contacts if you have some contact stored first and last name on the first line in your iphone and some stored as first name on first line second name on second line it seem to display them in correctly on the radio display also some as capitals etc some in lower case it did the same

i went through mine contacts list and stored all names on the first line in the phones memory and that seemed to cure it
you might find if you store the names all the same on first line and second line it may well do the same as above but i didnt try this ie first name surname

Yes; that's seem to work.

l've now gone through and set 'First/Last' AND put each name on the top line only.

The phone book is now correctly displayed. The only remaining issue to get rid of the email contacts which are mixed in with the phone contacts.
