Newspaper on the walls? Luxury! We just have one piece of newspaper that we wrap round ourselves as we sit in front of the cold ash of last year's bonfire night pyre...

Australia

Weather not extreme - pretty normal for this time of year - yes a few things came together all at the same time to raise the overall average temperature but really with all its dangers pretty normal for a January summer.

In saying that I do not want to deminish the hardships that many people have gone through and will continue to go through.

Zilchy....are you back in Oz now?

This last week here has been low 30s mostly so we are not having the heatwave like they are in the east. It was 40ish most days between Christmas and New year, but as Gary says, its all fairly normal, at least this side of the country. Been a bit ordinary in Tassie though.

Sorry for the late reply, I have been banned for the last 2 weeks for insulting some houses in a picture and for saying that houses in the UK are small like shoe boxes. I may have insulted some of the poms as well but as you know, I do that in normal life! over a beer, I take it as well.

It was a bit of "pub" banter but obviously upset some people. The funny thing is that it is now being used humorously by others, which is how it was meant to be in the first place.

The effrontery....but having been here for 20 years, I don't really know who my UK MP would be, i will have a Google (he is probably precious anyway)

I did appeal to Martin on the grounds of previous good behavior, citizenship of the old country and time served on the site and the fact that we have had curries and an apology but he decided that my sentence should be served in full with no remission. Wink

Hard to believe that someone of my good character could end up an internet felon, someone even called me a troll, at my age, I am honoured and feel like i have joined the "web" generation Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Anyway, glad you are back, seems like you may just have missed some impending snow....
