could be dodgy battery, but if the car tries braking itself, then I would say it points towards a faulty Brake Switch. Only about £20-£30

This happened to me on the motorway doing 80mph when overtaking the car goes into a limp like mode. starts breaking, lowers itself ect and does all the exact same as yours. I have been fighting with the garage for weeks. they say its the fuel pump not letting enough fuel through, so it starts to turn all the special programs off and slows you down so you can get home safely. They 'fixed' the car and so far I have not had any more trouble. the other problems it could be is the EGR valve.

Forgive me if im wrong as far as im aware the egr sticking at 80 mph wouldnt cause the car to slow as far as i know you only notice it when you start to drive as you accelerate there is basically nothing there foe a few seconds then all of a sudden it picks up speed but this may be depending if it sticks open or shut could anyone confirm this as im new to hear and new to owning a rrs so im trying to get as much info in my head as possible thanks pete |

I have just gone on what two other separate LR dealers have told me. I spoke to the service manager at both to ask his opinion on what could cause the fault I had had and those were the two things they both said it could be.
