My TDV8 gives me about 18-20mpg in local driving and about 26-28mpg "on a run". That's an unmapped engine.

England 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HST Java Black

Done a couple of longer runs recently and found 25-27mpg for motorway driving,

17-20 round town

Not sure how the average is worked out, over what time or distance it works on

I was getting 15-17 round town by just putting the auto box into D

Which compared to the M6 that was returning 9-11 mpg over the same journey was a bit of a surprise to be honest.

I've now been using command shift for the last 3 tank fills after noticing that the auto box sits in 3rd a lot of the time and sometimes drops into 4th eventually around 28mph....

I found that I can drop it manually into 5th at 33-34 mph and with the engines torque it still pulls ok and is returning 22-25 mpg

I found I could better mpg in manual sport mode on my X6

In the Sport
Average 19/20 round town
Just had remap and on a short run today got it to 26mpg at steady 75

I did get it into early 30s on a good run from Manchester to Northampton before remap but am hoping to better that after the remap “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.”
