As above if an approved used vehicle then reject it & ask for your money back, it does get complicated when finance companies are involved though - not Hartwells by any chance Exclamation

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey

Hey I wont name and shame but all I can say is I hope no one has to deal with the useless idiots that I did!

The finance company and the garage collapsed and agreed to swap it. It was the 3rd week of waiting till I had had enough of the excuses and took charge of the situation.

I took the car back and I am waiting on the V5 turning up till I make up my mind if i keep it or not. its had a lot of work done on it but Im not convinced. it is a stunning example so well looked after inside and out. I would be hard pushed to find one as clean as it is. it had 12 months warranty so will think it over

any tips advice welcome

thanks all

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Firenze Red

I recently had a similar experience. Much newer vehicle (which I only mentioned because this really meant 'no excuses;). Loads of issues from the off - the worst of which was an intolerable whine at about 70mph but noticable most of the time. Turned out to be the transfer box - the chain was eventually replaced. Vehicle had only done 17,000 and was an ex-LR car. I rejected it under the 30day/1000 conditional exchange scheme and the dealer was great. The eventual replacement (took eight weeks to sort or thereabouts) cost more (typical) and whilst not the colour I wanted it's (so far) much better in all respects.
No excuse for the dealer to mess you about - the small print is there and in your favour so I agree, if you have the option, walk and find another one - they aren't the cheapest vehicles to put right so best not start out with any issues.
