Just had an email (22.00 on the 11 dec ) from my local main dealer with a wonderful offer that can't be missed....... Wait for it

Buy a brand new Range Rover on the 12 dec and register it before the 31st and they will give me a free service in 12 months .

Can't write any more at the moment cos I have to go and check my pockets in case I find and odd £80000 in loose change, if I'm short gonna check down the back of the sofa too !

....probably true......if there was the remotest chance I thought I could pull it off, I would, but a recent extravagant purchase (see avatar) has led to current expenditures being placed under the mircoscope in the Bean household

Recently got a letter from the dealer principal asking to phone the dealership and be rewarded for being a "loyal customer". I thought that's odd, Sport is my first ever LR, bought privately, been to the dealership only 3/4 times for a service and some warranty and non-warranty work. Certainly don't qualify as a loyal customer yet.

So one day when I had nothing better to do, phoned in and got offered a potentially great discount (he said could be up to £4-£5k) on any new or pre-owned car from their stock (except the new FFRR) - as long as bought within a couple of weeks. When I said I wasn't looking to change this year, the gentleman said offer could be extended to family and friends too.

I think it's mainly about meeting/exceeding targets before y/e and also a little bit about clearing out old FFRR stock. Nothing wrong with that, it's a win-win for dealer and customer both. Just don't tell me I am the chosen one for being loyal
