IN CAR ENTERTAINMENT!

Hi

I've managed to get my HSE facelifted to the Autobiog and also had a colour change to white!!

As we all know the HK/Logic 7 sound isn't really all that good especially the standard subwoofer!!

I have managed to Wire up and added my own Amplifier 2 x 12'' Pioneer Subwoofers to give it that extra kick!

All took me no longer than 45 minutes!

Pictures will be updated over the weekend subject to the weather Smile

Nice one buddy!, looking forward to seeing some pics of your install.

I am thinking about adding a sub, but will wait and see how you have done yours first.

I will aim to upload pics for sure this weekend.

It is very straight forward without a doubt, I have seen many threads on the internet and some have taken the person hours and hours and even then the job looks messy.

There is nothing to be pulled apart and stripped apart from the norm to feed the wires which I'll also show you so you can visualise this.

it would really be great if you made a quick and simple installation guide on it or answered just some of these questions because I want to install a Sub in my range, ive already done one in my mercedes e class but it was partly easy because the battery was at the back and used a high to low with the factory sub at the back..

1) How did you manage to run the power cable from front to back? How easy was it to accses firewall?

2) Where did you get the rca output to the amp from? Did you use high to low from the sub at the back or anything else.

Thanks alot

Quick installation guide:

1. Underneath the Driver side footwell remove the 2 screws and pull the cover down ( This is the cover with the footwell light in it )

You will see a rubber bung, drill a hole through this enabling you to get a 4 Gauge Power cable through.

2. Run the Power cable along the firewall and feed it the same way as the loom is going so its not visual, once done use your power cap and fee the wire into the cover where your battery is and connect.

3. With the wire going through under the footwell, removal the plastic trims on the sills for front and rear and run the cable through to the back and then under the rear seats.

4. Use a Hi to Low from the green/green & white wires which run directly to the rear sub to get your rca outputs.

5. Use the rear cigarette lighter power as a remote wire.

6. On the inner side of your rear quote there are very easy access points to gain a ground.

7. Run your wires neatly and connect to your Amplifer.

8. This should take you no more tahn 30 - 45 minutes.

I will upload pics once the rain calms down and you will be able to see how proffesional this all looks!

Good Luck! Thumbs Up

i have been trying for ages to install my sub but cannot seem to find a way to get my power cable through. i have a couple more questions if u guys could please answer

1) harry, is your car the uk right hand side driver version?
2) the engine bay is pretty tight, how easy was it to run the wire through from the drivers side? apart from the footwell cover did you remove anything else.
3) where did you find the rca output for the sub, can you tell me the exact detailed location.

i really wanna do this install myself, tempted to get it done professionally but dont want to waste extra money

i just need a detailed explanation off exactly where to run the power wire, as i cant access the firewall and the rca output for the sub. i already have a low to high.

thanks,

Hi Karan

The car is a right UK hand drive.

As detailed in my previous post you have to run the wire against the firewall or you can channel it your own way as close to the firewall.

The subwoofer wires are green/green white in the rear quarter of your car, you have to remove the inside covers to access this.

If you are struggling to do this then I wouldn't really reccommend you doing it yourself as the last thing I would want you to do is to trigger something else off.

Either visit a professional who may charge you around £200 for the install or if your local I can do this for £125.00.

Regards
