Snapped drive shaft.

So last night some little Censored tried braking into my work place. After driving a little hard I pulled up outside and the car was smoking really bad. At first I thought it was the brakes but when I got back in it it had no drive and sounded horrible when on full lock. After looking today I found the off side drive shaft was snapped.
Can this just happen or does it give a sign first. I've had a bit of juddering when accelerating in the past but to be fine one minute and then snapped the next seams a bit strange. After all these cars are made for going over rough ground off road and it can't cope with a flat road Rolling Eyes
Anybody had any problems in the past?

know of a couple that have been broken off road, but usually the CV gives way first.

Hope the scrotes didnt get in or if they did, hope they didnt get much. Thumbs Up

When you change the driveshaft, Best to just get a complete new one with new CV's TBH. Bodsys Brake Bible
