Suspension/rodent warning....!

Folks, i'm getting a' suspension will raise when system cooled' warning flashing up - twice in the last two days. The car is not raising properly from the access position and won't raise to the highest position at all when the warning is active. All works as it should when the warning is not showing.
This has happened the day after the low coolant light came on; on investigation most of the coolant pipe just behind the rad had been chewed away by a mouse...... Shocked

I don't know if the suspension warning indication may be linked to rodent damage or not. Or does it indicate another problem? Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would never have believed a rodent would eat a rubber pipe (why??? Rolling Eyes ) and cause so much damage. Fortunately i stopped to investigate before the coolant dropped too low and got the pipe taped up. New one on order.

Good news - i checked the garage this evening - one dead mouse in the trap Thumbs Up

Just to let you know that the rodent will chew anything. This will include all types of materials as the front teeth grow constantly and they need to 'file' them down. It's a natural thing for rodents to gnaw, so just be carefull and check all areas where you noticed the rodent in case of further damage.

Can't answer your other questions though. Rolling Eyes It is what it is and I am what I am....

That would explain the scrape marks on the earth wire securing nut!

looks like there may be more damage; the rear washer is no longer working. I can hear the pump working but no water is getting through. The car is taking a long time to raise from 'access'; this feels like it could be expensive. Sad

When you next fill up, check for any leaks under the car after a short drive - the elbow of the fuel return pipe appears to be tasty to rodents; I had the entire tank replaced under insurance and mine was not an isolated incident.

Your compressor sounds like it may be on the way out; more likely to be due to overuse from a stuck relay or failed valve block than satisfying the dental needs of Mickey & relatives.

thanks guys. DrLex that was what i was wondering - parts failure or rodent action.... One is covered under warrantee the other probably not! I'll see what my indy says on Monday.

Those mouse traps are staying down ; small pieces of 'Picnic' bars as bait work well by the way Thumbs Up
